I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

In the Target parking lot waiting for a space when a woman backed out of another space and hit my car. Before I could get out of my car - with , I swear, forgiveness in my heart because she really barely nudged me. - the wench waved at me dissmissively and drove away. Forgiveness evaporated....

While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road
and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.

The sun has dipped below the clouds on the coast and god it's going to be a glorious sunset. Headed home, but pulled off at Cardiff by the Sea to watch.......oh yeah, that's why we live here.....

Spent the afternoon wandering the mall with Rich, we had hot chocolate to warm up because despite having umbrellas (rescued from the trunk) we were soaked from the knees down. The chocolate was amazing, like melted down cinnamon truffles; it was practically chewy! What a fabulous day.

Gotta go the shows about to start.....

If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together,
their offspring would probably just be completely invisible.

Richie came to town for the weekend and so the boys went camping. I am procrastinating on finishing this photo project that Rich has to take home with him tomorrow; so naturally I went to a movie.  I went to see 'Hereafter' with Matt Damon.  Seeing a movie like that one all alone is probably best.  There's no one else there that will need to be bribed later to not tell how you were blubbering like a baby at a stupid movie. A stupid, long and drawn out movie that you actually paid to see and that in the end sort of broke your heart.  Typing this now and thinking about that little boy I'm blubbering again, probably because he lost his twin....It was a very long movie

Anyway, on the way home, thanks to the stupid movie that made me cry, I had the worst craving for some spaghetti.  So here I am at 10pm browning some sweet Italian sausage and trying to doctor some jar sauce with red wine, fresh garlic and some sun dried tomato paste. Since there's no hope of me sleeping tonight anyway I'm also having an iced chai. Stupid movie.....

That is all.....

I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

This morning as I was leaving the gym a man was coming in.  He was taking one last puff of his cigarette and stamping out the butt on the sidewalk.  As he walked through the door he was still exhaling a trail of smoke. An older gentleman sitting in the lobby muttered 'arschloch' under his breath, I would have gone with a milder 'dummkopf' but still I had to agree.

They've almost finished the work on the new Lewis Rd. bridge, but today they have begun breaking up the brand new concrete divider. So are we to get from this, that the bridge was made with sub standard materials and it's already falling apart? OR These guys are waisting our taxpayer dollars and just creating more work for themselves.....either way.........

Alright, one more restored old pic, from June 1964.

The young Moreno clans.

At least Bad decisions make good stories.

I'm working on a photo project for my mom.  Scanning a hundred or so photos to put on a photo frame as a surprise gift.  My mom is giving it to my aunt and I get the dubious honor of scanning the photos and loading them on the frame.  Just as an example yesterday in 4 hours I managed to scan just 22 pictures and am 1/2 way through fixing the first one.  This shouldn't take any time at all!

I was given some fabulous OLD photos to scan and a few of them are in pretty bad shape. They've been scratched, folded, set in the sun and just to top things off one of them looks like it was held under water for several days.  Now I love photoshop and nothing gives me greater pleasure than putting my skills to good use, but fixing a photo a pixel at a time is tedious and tiring and I think it's making me blind.  I don't mind really, I like focusing so hard on a project that I lose all track of time....no really, it's no trouble, no trouble at all.....really....it's fine......just fine......

I would love to post before and after pictures of the worse one, but they're not my pictures to post.  I will, however, post a couple of pics that include my family members, because lord knows we could all use a good laugh.

Who the heck? And what is on that boys head?

All the Moreno cousins with a couple of (ironically enough)
Campbells thrown in.  It was somebodies wedding. And don't even ask, I have no
idea what was going on with my hair.

Now here's a fine looking group.  Ahh those 70's.

How the heck  are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

Up at 3 am. can't sleep,  can't stop sneezing, nose won't stop running, eyes are streaming....what the hell have I got? cold? sinus infection? allergies?  All 3!!?? Ugh!

Anyway, watching useless TV and surfing the web.  realized I hadn't posted this nice picture of Sean and Cormac.  Cormac calls him 'pop pop' or something that sounds like that. They were sharing a morning coffee

'That's disgusting pop-pop!'

The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending an email with the phrase "Regards" again.

The boys went camping early yesterday afternoon and left me all alone. For the first few hours, I was literally paralyzed with indecision over what to do. I knew I wanted to eat out (or get take out), see a movie, do some shopping..... In the end, it took me 3 hours to just pick up a salad and sandwich at the newly opened Panera, and then I went back home to watch some of the movies I've been buying and stacking on the player. I know.......pathetic......

This morning my cold/sinus infection that I've been fighting for nearly a week was worse so I curled up on the couch with my necessary electronics and remotes and gallons of hot tea. I did make a brief foray to the mall to shop because I couldn't waste all that free time. The first person I talked to at the mall - the girl at the makeup counter - told me to go home and get some rest. She could have just been honest and said that there's nothing she could do for me........

Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection.

We took the kids back to the airport today.  I'm sure going to miss having that little mug around ...oh and I'll miss Cormac and Matt too.
Here's a movie that La took of us at the zoo.

So now we have our Sage with us again. She arrived today with extra luggage; she brought some dress up clothes.
"Aidric, you wanna play dress-up?"

"Sure!" says Aidric, having no idea what so ever what she's talking about.

Out of her bag come sparkly beribboned multicolored dresses, a tutu and some wands. Aidric looks at the colorful pile and says 'Yeah, I gotta go get my trucks'. He never came back...

A couple of other photos:

No, Mark and Matt wouldn't really drink those drinks, they borrowed them from
La and Jessica.....didn't they.......

The boys found a deer willing to hold still for them.
One smart deer just hung out under the food dispenser!

Even if I knew your social security number, I wouldn't know what to do with it...

Went shopping with G'ma and Caro and Aidric today. Years of shopping have made me conclude that dressing rooms are designed by particularly cruel people. But after trying on clothes with those two skinny women, I realize that it's just me that dressing rooms are cruel to.......Although I'm the only one that actually bought anything.......how did that happen......

I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring, but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

My doctor is like 90 years old, but he’s been 90 years old since I started seeing him 15 years ago. Every visit he shuffles into the exam room in his suit and tennis shoes of indeterminate brand. He discusses lab results and ultra sound and bone scan results. He doesn’t miss a thing or even forget anything about me.  He greets me in French because he knows I lived there and he’s French.

Every visit I ask him, half fearing the answer, if this is the year he’ll retire and every year he says the same thing “We take it one day at a time”.....so the secret to living to happy and healthy old age is apparently to take it one day at a time.......

Google really needs to start their directions on #5. Pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

Aidric and I are hanging with Jessica today. We’re tidying the house and getting groceries for tomorrow nights dinner.

Jessica convinced me to walk to Imboden’s from her house to get the meat.  It would burn some of Aidric’s energy and burn off our breakfast. It’s less than a mile to the butcher shop so, even though it’s still soupy out, I said yes.
The problem is that on the way back I was carrying 8lbs. of carne asada.  See eight pounds of carne asada weighs 8lbs!.....

How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said?

We went to the zoo for Cormac’s 2nd birthday today. Aside from the fact that we spent the day trying to breath air as thick as pudding and sweating so much we were all drenched before the dolphins tried to splash us, we had a great time. Of course I took my camera and took pics of Aidric and his nephew. The two boys had to stick their heads through every photo board in the zoo. They were turtles, fish, snails, frogs, water drops......well you get it. I took some movies of the stupid dolphin show and more photos of the boys with Matt on a giant bronze gorilla. Wonderful memories all fully documented....... I downloaded them to my computer and every f****ng one of them is blurry. I hate the auto focus feature because it flattens my pictures, they have no depth, but I’m so freaking blind even with my glasses on that I can’t manually focus either. Totally sucks!! hmmm....maybe I’m so blind that I only think the pictures are blurry as I look at them on my computer screen.......Hey, it could happen......

There is a great need for a sarcasm font!

I love my teenaged nieces. Teenaged girls have the unique ability to be both incredibly mature and wise beyond their years and at the same time naive and child like and, well, downright silly. If you ever get a chance, you must peruse the photos that Emy and Caro took with grandma last night on her Mac with the Photo Booth program. The three of them were laughing hysterically the entire time and the photos reflect an evening of total fun and merriment.

In other news.........hmmmm,......nope that was it.....

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong

A typical Missy rant - if you have a pet that you proudly carry around in your purse, just skip this one.
I was accosted by a teeny tiny yappy pretend dog in a stroller at the grocery store today. I was mulling over which chocolate cake mix to buy when a lady pushing a stroller walks past me and something in the stroller started BARKING at me. Now perhaps the dog was just reminding me that I'm on a diet and didn't need that brand of chocolate cake mix or any other, but that makes being barked at in the grocery store no less annoying.

What does it say about our society that:
A) We have strollers for our teeny tiny yappy pretend dogs?
B) Our teeny tiny yappy pretend dogs don't need to walk. (We're overweight and so should they be?)
or
We've bred such teen tiny, teeny tiny yappy pretend dogs, that their little legs are too short to keep up with a normal adult stride.

And
C) We can now bring our teeny tiny yappy pretend dogs in their stupid strollers into the GROCERY store!
That is all.
